Hyperhydrosis (Excessive Sweating)
What is hyperhidrosis?
Sweating is a natural function that our body does to keep us cool and regulate temperature. However, sometimes you may find excessive sweating embarrassing, which can be made worse by stress and further anxiety in these situations!
This condition is known as Hyperhidrosis, and is totally normal. Excessive sweating commonly occurs in the armpits, on the underside of your feet, and on the palm of your hands.
What is a muscle relaxant?
Muscle relaxant injections contain Botulinum Toxin Type A, which is commonly used for anti-wrinkle treatments in the upper face. This product works to relax facial muscles, thereby temporarily reducing movement in the treatment area.
Treatment of Hyperhydrosis
Our hyperhidrosis treatment is a relatively simple procedure where we utilize muscle relaxants in areas where you excessively sweat, disrupting nerve signals to the sweat glands. This, in turn, reduces sweating in your problem areas.
What is involved, and how long does it last?
The muscle relaxant is administered by a Doctor or Registered Nurse through a series of injections with a fine needle.
Results can be expected to be felt within two weeks of treatment, and last for approximately 4 to 6 months.
Masseter Hypertrophy (Teeth Grinding & Jaw Slimming)
What is Masseter Hypertrophy?
If you suffer from teeth grinding/clenching and as a result are experiencing severe muscle pain or enlarged/protruding jaw muscles (masseters), muscle relaxant injections can be used to ease your symptoms.
Treatment of TMJ Disorders
Although treatment of the masseters with muscle relaxant injections is off-label, it has been abundantly tested by doctors worldwide, and has been found to be extremely effective in treating disorders of the TMJ.
When applied to the muscles responsible for grinding your teeth, it can minimize, and in some cases, stop you from clenching/grinding altogether. By doing so, the muscle pain associated with this action is severely reduced.
Treatment of Masseter Hypertrophy
Due to the muscles constantly overworking, they tend to become quite strong. Because of this, they can be found to alter your face shape, creating a more square appearance. This treatment, by relaxing the muscles, will soften the jawline and create a slimmer lower face.
What is involved in the procedure?
The muscle relaxant is administered by a Doctor or Registered Nurse through a series of injections with a fine needle. Usually 2-5 injections are needed each side to achieve the desired result.
How long does it last?
Results can be expected to be felt within two weeks of treatment and last for approximately 4 months.
