What are PDO Monofilament threads?
A relatively new addition to Cosmetic treatments, Polydioxanone is an ether-ester combination which has been found to be safe and effective, having been used in dissolvable sutures since the 1980s.
This treatment involves multiple fine threads (less than the diameter of a human hair) inserted under the skin in areas that would benefit from texture repair and skin tightening.
How does it work?
Over a period of approximately 4 months, collagen forms around the axis of the thread, and the thread dissolves. This new framework of collagen leads to a visible tightening of the skin, assisting with fine lines, dull skin, and in many cases volume.
